Maurus Twerenbold (born September 13, 1988 in Zug ) is a Swiss jazz musician ( trombone , composition).

Twerenbold came to jazz through his membership in the big band Zug and studied jazz trombone at the Lucerne School of Music with Nils Wogram , Adrian Mears and Gerry Hemingway and composition with Ed Partyka . After completing his master's degree, he completed a master's degree in music education at the Basel Jazz Campus with Michael Büttler and Adrian Mears. He also spent a year abroad in Amsterdam while studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Erik van Lier , Bert Boeren , Martijn Sohier and Jilt Jansma . From the 2010s he played a. a. in the formations Generations Unit 2014 , with Luca Sisera Roofer and in the Lucerne Jazz Orchestra , on whose album Oaktree (2016) he was involved. In 2014 he recorded his debut album White Page ( Unit Records ) under his own name ( Maurus Twerenbold Non Harmonic Quartet ) , on which Toni Amadeus Bechtold (tenor saxophone, bass clarinet), Lukas Traxel (bass) and Daniel "D-Flat" Weber (drums) participated.
