Max-Rainer Uhrig

Max-Rainer Uhrig (* 1944 in Upper Franconia, Germany) is a German publicist, editor and private scholar.

Life

Max-Rainer Uhrig grew up in Upper Franconia . He passed the Abitur in 1964 at the Alexander von Humboldt Gymnasium in Schweinfurt . He studied German , Slavic , history and social studies at the University of Erlangen . He passed his state exams for teaching at grammar schools in 1971 and 1975. To the Dr. phil. he received his doctorate in 1973 from the University of Erlangen . From 1973 to 2002 he worked as a high school teacher.

Max-Rainer Uhrig had been a member of the Rückert Society since 1968 . He published numerous articles in the organ of the society, the "Rückert Studies" and worked as their co-editor. He gave lectures in Erlangen , Coburg , Schweinfurt , Haßfurt , Ebern and Heiligenstadt (Thuringia) . After reaching retirement he is scientifically active in Rückert research as well as with work on German-Slavic language and literature relations as well as the Russian development of Central Asia and sepulchral culture.
