Max Gerstl

Max Gerstl (born December 29, 1921 in Walchsing ; † January 12, 1994 in Aicha , municipality of Beutelsbach ) was a German politician ( CSU ).

Gerstl attended elementary school in Walchsing and did an apprenticeship as a butcher in his parents' business , where he also worked. The hospitality and agriculture branches also belonged to the business. During the Second World War he was drafted into the Wehrmacht, for which he worked in Russia . He was wounded on February 1, 1945 and taken prisoner of war by the Americans in Germany. In 1947 he passed the master's examination in the butcher's trade. In 1950 he moved to Aicha, where he ran a farm.

Gerstl became a member of Beutelsbach's municipal council in 1956, and on May 1, 1960 he became the municipality's first mayor. In the same year he moved into the Vilshofener district council. After the regional reform , he became deputy chairman of the new district association of the CSU in Passau . From 1966 to 1982 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament , initially in the district of Griesbach im Rottal , Vilshofen , and later in the district of Passau-West .
