Max Nyberg (2016)

Max HE Nyberg (* 1992 in Lund ) is a Swedish pianist and composer .

Life

Max Nyberg attended the Music Conservatory in Falun , where he studied piano, jazz and composition in Bengt Andersson's class . On April 8, 2011 - at the age of 19 - he made his highly regarded debut with the Piano Concerto No. 1 in E flat major by Franz Liszt , one of the most demanding works in piano literature, accompanied by the Gävle Symphony Orchestra and students of the Falun Conservatory under the direction of Fredrik Burstedt.

From 2011 to 2014 he continued his education at the Barratt Due Music Institute in Oslo . This was followed by studies at the Cologne University of Music and Dance with the renowned pianist Michael Rische , which he completed in 2016 with a master's degree. He then took up residence in Oslo again.

Nyberg has an extraordinary virtuosity, coupled with a great analytical clarity. His varied repertoire includes classical works by Bach , Mozart , Beethoven , Liszt, Brahms , Grieg and Schönberg through to works by the contemporary avant-garde, but also music that is inspired by jazz and pop . His concerts have already taken him to numerous cities in Europe , and he has received several prizes and awards for his interpretations. He is regarded as an “idiosyncratic artist personality”, as a “thoughtful, analytical type of musician positioned beyond the mainstream”.

Max Nyberg is the brother of the jazz musician Karl Nyberg ( saxophone and clarinet ), with whom he occasionally appears.
