Maxim Nikolajewitsch Galanow ( Russian Максим Николаевич Галанов ; born March 13, 1974 in Krasnoyarsk , Russian SFSR ) is a former Russian ice hockey player . Between 2013 and 2015 he was General Manger at HK Sokol Krasnoyarsk in the Vysschaya Hockey League .
Career
Maxim Galanow began his career as a hockey player with HK Lada Tolyatti , for which he was active until 1995. He was selected in the 1993 NHL Entry Draft in the third round as a total of 61st player by the New York Rangers . In 1995, the defender moved to the Binghamton Rangers in the American Hockey League before he played 122 NHL games from 1997 to 2001 .
Before the 2001/02 season Galanow returned to HK Lada Tolyatti, which he left during the season towards Severstal Tscherepowez . He spent the 2002/03 season with the Augsburg Panthers . He then returned to Cherepovets after just one season. After three seasons with Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk , the Russian played for Metallurg Novokuznetsk between 2006 and 2009 . At the beginning of 2010 he moved to Rubin Tyumen from the Vysschaja Hockey League , for whom he played until 2012.
International
For Russia , Maxim Galanow took part in the U20 Junior World Cup in 1993 and the World Cup in 2000 .
