Maximilian Andreas Margrave of Baden
Maximilian Andreas Margrave of Baden , also called Max von Baden (born July 3, 1933 in Salem ) is a German entrepreneur and has been head of the Baden company since 1963 . As such, he calls himself completely Maximilian Andreas Friedrich Gustav Ernst August Bernhard Margrave of Baden, Duke of Zähringen .
Life
Max von Baden is the son of Berthold Margrave of Baden and Theodora of Greece . He attended the Schloss Salem school . After graduating from high school, he did his military service as a reserve officer candidate in the Bundeswehr . Today he is Colonel of the Reserve.
Since September 30, 1966, Max von Baden has been with Valerie Isabella Habsburg-Lothringen (born May 23, 1941) from the former Austrian Imperial and Hungarian Royal House of Habsburg-Lothringen , the daughter of Hubert Salvator Habsburg-Lothringen (1894–1971) and Rosemary zu Salm-Salm and granddaughter of Franz Salvator of Austria-Tuscany , married.
His mother was the sister of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh , making him a first cousin of Charles, Prince of Wales , and his siblings.
Among other things, he is the owner of the wineries of the Margrave of Baden, which his eldest son Bernhard Prinz von Baden has been managing since 1998 . After Maximilian's death, he was also to become head of the Baden family.
Max von Baden has four children:
- Marie Louise Elisabeth Mathilde Theodora Cecilie Sarah Charlotte Princess of Baden (born July 3, 1969 in Salem) ∞ Richard Dudley Baker (born March 30, 1936 in Biddeford, USA) in September 1999; has lived in the USA since the wedding. On March 1, 2001, their daughter Sofia Baker was born.

Max von Baden was temporarily active in almost fifty associations and clubs, from the Rhine Shipping Association to the German Red Cross. At the German Red Cross (DRK) he is a member of the honorary council of the Baden regional association. He shied away from the public eye before handing over the administration to his son. He is particularly closely connected to the work in the DRK and regularly takes part in meetings.
