Maximilian Franzreb (born August 18, 1996 in Bad Tölz ) is a German ice hockey player on the goalkeeping position . From 2016 to 2020 he was in the squad of the Eisbären Berlin from the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) and played at the same time with the Lausitzer Füchsen in the DEL2 with a sponsorship license before moving to the EC Bad Tölz in the DEL2 in January 2020 .

career

Franzreb's father Markus was also an ice hockey goalkeeper and played for Wolfsburg in the second division, among others. Maximilian moved to Hamburg when he was seven years old. He played in the youth team of Hamburger SV , from 2014 onwards in the youth division of Hamburg Freezers . In February 2015 he made his DEL debut for the Freezers, making him the first player trained in Hamburg to play in a game of the German Ice Hockey League in the history of the club, which was dissolved in 2016 .

After the Freezers dissolved, Franzreb moved to Eisbären Berlin in the summer of 2016 and also received a funding license in order to gain further experience at the DEL2 association Lausitzer Füchse . At the beginning of January 2020 he moved to BC Bad Tölz and went into the second division. After Justin Pogge was signed , he would only have been the third goalkeeper in Berlin. He played a total of 25 DEL missions for the polar bears.
