Marco Pfleger (born August 21, 1991 in Peißenberg ) is a German ice hockey player who will be under contract with the Tölzer Löwen in the DEL2 from the 2019/20 season .

Player career

Pfleger was born in the Peißenberg market in Upper Bavaria and began ice hockey at the local TSV . Until 2012 he played for his home club in the Bavarian League. His career picked up speed, especially with his move to the top division club Tölzer Löwen . He later described his time with the Lions as a “career springboard”. He learned a lot from Lorenz Funk senior in particular .

In 2013, Pfleger was used for the first time for the Tölz cooperation partner Nürnberg Ice Tigers in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). and received his first DEL contract with the Ice Tigers in April 2014. In the opinion of sports director Martin Jiranek , Pfleger subsequently became a “cornerstone” of the team. In October 2015, his contract in Nuremberg was extended to 2018. In mid-April 2018, Pfleger switched to league rivals Straubing Tigers . After one season in the Lower Bavaria jersey, the right- handed shooter switched to the DEL2 for the 2019/20 season and joined his former club in Bad Tölz. Above all, this is an affair of the heart, said Pfleger.

International

In December 2013 Pfleger was appointed to the German national team by national coach Pat Cortina , but had to cancel his participation in the international matches against Latvia due to an injury.
