Maximilian Watzka (born May 25, 1986 in Leipzig ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Watzka began his career in the youth of VfB Leipzig . At local rivals FC Sachsen Leipzig , to which he moved in 2004, he played a total of 76 games in the NOFV-Oberliga Süd and a role in the DFB-Pokal between 2004 and 2007 . He scored nine goals.

In the 2007/08 season Watzka played for the then second division Kickers Offenbach , where he came to 13, mostly shorter stakes and one appearance in the cup. Watzka could not score goals.

For the 2008/09 season Watzka moved to the Regionalliga Nord for 1. FC Magdeburg, where he was able to fight for a regular place. In his two years in Magdeburg he was used in 62 of the 68 games and scored 14 goals.

In 2010 Watzka returned to Leipzig . He moved within the Regionalliga Nord to RB Leipzig and received a two-year contract with the club until June 30, 2012. In summer 2012, his contract in Leipzig was not extended, whereupon Watzka moved to Eintracht Trier in the Regionalliga Südwest. For the 2013/14 season he went to the Regionalliga Nordost for FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin . After a total of three and a half years in the capital, he moved to the Luxembourg first division club FC Progrès Niederkorn in the BGL Ligue in January 2017 . With the new club he reached 4th place in his debut season. In the qualification for the Europa League achieved in this way, he was used in all 4 games u. a. one of the greatest international successes of Luxembourg club football could be celebrated with the victory over the Glasgow Rangers . In the 2017/18 season Watzka was runner-up with Niederkorn, but then ended his career.
