Mechthild Podzeit-Lütjen (born November 1955 in Bremen ) is a German and Austrian writer .

biography

Podzeit-Lütjen spent her youth in French-speaking Switzerland and lives mainly in Vienna. She obtained the nursing diploma (DGKP) in Siegen and worked at the Jung-Stilling Hospital with a focus on intensive care.

At the University of Vienna she studied German , philology and Protestant theology as well as biblical archeology and numismatics . She completed her studies as Magistra (Austria: graduation ) and Bachelor. Study trips took her to Egypt (2011), Romania (2012), Venice (2012), Rome (2013) and Israel (2013, 2018)

She writes poetry and prose , awarded for haiku, as well as reviews for the newspapers Die Furche , Der Standard , Salzburger Nachrichten, Interview Wiener Zeitung. She is editor, u. a. with the support of the National Fund of the Republic of Austria for Victims of National Socialism , the poems of the Spiegelgrund sacrifice Alois Kaufman.

A book documents the Semmelweis Women's Clinic with texts by numerous writers (including Jonke, Mayröcker) on the subject of birth, as well as corresponding photos of the area and interior shots of Tirza Podzeit.

She is a member of the Graz Authors' Assembly , the IG Authors Authors , the Austrian Writers' Association and other writers' associations in Austria, Liechtenstein and Germany ( Die Kogge ).
