In the genre I the ordered Grand Duchy of Mecklenburg Friedrich-Franz Railway different one of the type 1A1 1848-1863 procured steam locomotives.

history

The MARSCHALL VORWÄRTS was delivered in 1848 by the Berlin locomotive factory F. Wöhlert with the factory number 1 and was given the train number 4 at the Mecklenburg Railway Company A new boiler in 1866 and retired in 1900. During a visit to the workshop, the driving axle was accidentally installed incorrectly, with the result that the locomotive drove backwards through the shed wall during the subsequent test drive.

The locomotives SCHWAAN and FOG were 1850 by Borsig delivered and received the lane numbers 9 and 10. In the nationalization the locomotives were given the numbers 45 and 46. The mist was discarded, 1890, while the SCHWAAN was to 1898 in use, and from 1895, the number 3 wore.

The HERTHA and FREYA locomotives were also supplied by Borsig in 1860 and assigned the numbers 23 and 24. After nationalization, they were given the numbers 55 and 56 and in 1895 the 4 and 5 numbers. The locomotives were retired in 1894 and 1899.

Egestorff delivered the HULDA in 1863 with track number 25 . After the nationalization the locomotive was given the number 57 and in 1895 the number 5. In 1901 the locomotive was retired.

The power of the locomotives was sufficient for the flat routes. It was mostly used in front of passenger trains on the Hagenow – Rostock route, and occasionally in front of mixed trains.

Constructive features

The locomotives had an internal fork frame. The long bowl consisted of two, with the HULDA three, shots. The steam dome was on the middle shot, and on the HULDA on the front shot.

In the HULDA locomotive , the fire box was extended over the rear axle by means of an inclined lower edge in order to achieve the largest possible grate surface. Except for the MARSCHALL VORWÄRTS, which had a conical chimney, the locomotives had a long cylindrical chimney.

The two-cylinder wet steam engine was arranged horizontally on the outside. The Stephenson control was internal. With the SCHWAAN and the NEBEL , the cylinders were attached to the smoke chamber at an angle, and the controls were also located on the outside. The HULDA had a screw reversal.

The suspension of the drive wheels was provided by leaf springs located below which were connected to the upper leaf spring of the front axle by means of compensating levers . The HULDA had a transverse leaf spring under the rear running axle, the axle of the other locomotives was unsprung.

The locomotives were coupled with a two-axle tender with a water supply of 4.45 m³ and 3 tons of coal.
