Medal table of the 1906 Olympic Intermediate Games
The Ottoman Empire (now Turkey ) had officially not sent any participants to the Athens Games. The medals listed here were achieved by two football teams that competed for the cities of Smyrna and Saloniki , which politically belonged to the Ottoman Empire at the time. The team from Smyrna consisted of local French, English and an Armenian. The team from Saloniki consisted entirely of players from the local club Omilos Filonuson , whose players were all Greeks.
