Medal table of the 1968 Summer Olympics

The placements in the medal table of the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City are sorted by the number of gold medals won, followed by the number of silver and bronze medals. If two or more countries have an identical medal balance, they are listed alphabetically on the same rank. This corresponds to the system used by the IOC .

44 of the 112 participating nations were able to win at least one medal in one of the 172 competitions, 30 of them even at least one gold medal.
