Medil Aseo

Medil Sacay Aseo (born June 27, 1954 in Maniki , Kapaong , Davao del Norte , Philippines ) is a Filipino clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Tagum .

Life

Medil Sacay Aseo studied at the seminary in Davao City and received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Tagum on April 7, 1979 .

In addition to various tasks in pastoral care, he was Subregens at the College Seminary in Tagum from 1983 to 1985 . From 1988 to 1991 he completed postgraduate studies at the Loyola School of Theology at Ateneo de Manila University . He was diocesan director for the family apostolate and member of the college of consultors of the diocese of Tagum. From 2003 to 2006 he was the pastor of the Filipino Seafarers in Liverpool and from 2008 to 2015 he was a member of the Galilee Center for Priests in Tagaytay City . Since 2017 he worked as a missionary in the Diocese of Greensburg in the United States.

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Tagum on April 7, 2018. The Archbishop of Davao , Romulo Geolina Valles , ordained him episcopal on June 20 of the same year. Co- consecrators were his predecessor Wilfredo Manlapaz and the Bishop of Greensburg , Edward Malesic .
