biography

McJames was already on skis at the age of two, in Alta , where her parents worked as ski instructors. She competed in FIS races from December 2002. A year later, she made her first appearances in the continental championship Nor-Am Cup . In the 2005/06 season she won three races in the Nor-Am Cup and made it onto the podium three more times. As a result, she secured victory in the overall standings as well as in the Super-G and giant slalom rankings.

In her first World Cup race in November 2006, she was eliminated. On January 21, 2007 she won World Cup points for the first time as the 28th of the giant slalom in Cortina d'Ampezzo . In the 2007/08 season she was again first in the giant slalom classification of the Nor-Am Cup. McJames' best result in the World Cup so far is a 14th place, achieved on October 25, 2008 at the giant slalom in Sölden . In 2009 she took part in the giant slalom at the World Championships in Val-d'Isère , but was eliminated in the first round. At the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver , she finished 32nd in giant slalom, but this time did not finish in slalom. At the 2011 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , she was 29th in slalom and 34th in giant slalom. Shortly after the World Cup, however, the 2010/11 season came to an end for her after she broke her left calcaneus while skiing in her home town of Park City .

In the 2011/12 season , McJames won the giant slalom classification in the Nor-Am Cup for the third time, but it was only used once in the World Cup in the same winter, after winning her last World Cup points in January 2010. In the winter of 2012/13, McJames took part in two World Cup races without success. In the Nor-Am Cup, on the other hand, she won the overall ranking and the combined ranking of the 2012/13 season. She became the overall Nor-Am winner again in the 2015/16 season.
