Mehmet Türkmehmet (born October 18, 1980 in Kirkuk ) is a Turkish football player who currently plays for Yeni Malatyaspor .

Career

Türkmehmet was born in 1980 as the son of Iraqi Turkmen in Kirkuk, Iraq . After the outbreak of the second Gulf War , he and his family fled to neighboring Turkey . He learned to play football on the street and in the school team. In 1996 he started playing club football in the youth of MKE Ankaragücü . In 1999 he received a professional contract here, but continued to play for a year exclusively for the youth or reserve team. In the 2000/01 season he was loaned to Keskinspor . For the 2001 season he was accepted as a professional by the then head coach Ersun Yanal and carefully introduced to the team. By the end of the season he reached fourth place in the table with his team and played in 16 first division matches.

He was for Ankaragücü until summer 2004 and then moved to league rivals Denizlispor . The following seasons he always played in half-year periods at various first and second division clubs. He was with Bursaspor in the 2005/06 season for champions of the TFF 1st Lig and rose to the Süper Lig . 2008/09 he was with Diyarbakırspor runner-up in the TFF 1st Lig and rose to the Süper Lig.

In the spring of 2011 he moved to the third division Şanlıurfaspor . With this team, he finished the 2011/12 season as champions of the TFF 2nd Lig and rose to the TFF 1st Lig .

For the 2012/13 season moved to the second division Karşıyaka SK . He left this club during the winter break and joined the third division club Yeni Malatyaspor .
