Melchior Feselen
Melchior Feselen (* around 1495 probably in Passau ; † April 10, 1538 in Ingolstadt ) was a German painter .
Live and act
Feselen worked in Passau and Ingolstadt, where he died on April 10, 1538. He was educated after Albrecht Altdorfer , executed his paintings very diligently, but could not free himself from a certain stiffness.
The Alte Pinakothek in Munich keeps from him the siege of Rome by Porsenna ( story of Cloelia , 1529) and the conquest of Alesia by Caesar ( siege of the city of Alesia , 1533), which were painted for Duke Wilhelm IV , the collection of the historical society at Regensburg a Maria Magdalena , the Germanisches Nationalmuseum an adoration of the three wise men .
