The state of Melekeok of the West Pacific island republic of Palau is located in the central east of the main island of Babeldaob . The Palau capital Ngerulmud and the eponymous place Melekeok are also located here .
The existing out of the villages (hamlets) Melekeok Hamlet, Ngerburch, Ngerang, Ngermelech, Ngerubesang, Ngeruliang and Ngerulmud 28 km large part of the state is bordered to the west by Ngeremlengui , north to Ngiwal and south to Ngchesar . The largest place is the administrative center of Melekeok , which was previously called Ukaeb . According to the 2015 census, the entire administrative area had 277 inhabitants.
In the north of the Melekeok administrative region, near the border with Ngiwal, lies Lake Ngardok , the largest natural freshwater lake in Micronesia .
