Mengálvio Pedro Figueiró , Mengálvio for short (born December 17, 1939 in Laguna , Santa Catarina , Brazil) is a former Brazilian soccer player. He played in midfield . In 1962 he became world champion with Brazil .

Club career

From 1960 he played for FC Santos , for which he played a total of 371 games and scored 28 goals. In 1962 he won the Copa Libertadores with Santos . In 1978 he was the club's coach for a year.

National team

In 1962 Mengálvio belonged to the Brazilian world championship team, but was not used during the tournament. A year later he made two caps for Brazil.
