Mauro Ramos de Oliveira (born August 30, 1930 in Poços de Caldas , † September 18, 2002 ibid) was a Brazilian football player . The central defender was world champion with the Brazilian national team in 1958 and 1962 and South American champion in 1949 . He also won the World Cup in 1962 and 1963 with his long-time club, FC Santos .

Ramos began his playing career in 1947 at Club Sanjoanense from São Paulo , the next year he moved to São Paulo FC , with whom he won the São Paulo state championship four times in twelve years . In 1949 he was also appointed to the national team for the first time, and by 1965 he made 23 international appearances and took part in three world championships - 1954 , 1958 and 1962 - where he was captain of the world championship team in 1962. In 1960 he moved to FC Santos , with whom he achieved his greatest successes in club football. In addition to five national championships in six years, in 1962 and 1963 two victories in Copa Libertadores and World Cup in a row. In 1966, at the end of his active career, he moved abroad to Mexico for the first time, to Deportivo Toluca , before ending his professional career in 1968.
