People of the 21st Century is the third studio album by German musician Felix Meyer , which was released on April 4, 2014. The album was produced by Franz Plasa .
Emergence
After the release of the previous album first love / last dance at 105music , some big festival appearances, various Germany tours, guest appearances at Zaz and Keimzeit as well as the shooting of an arte documentary, producer Franz Plasa broke with the major label . The recordings for Meyer's third studio album were continued at Plasa in Hamburg. The album was released on the folk label "Löwenzahn" in Leipzig.
In addition to 11 own compositions and lyrics, Felix Meyer has also transposed a title by Jacques Brel into German: "Il neige sur Liège" here as "Snow falls on Krefeld".

criticism
Petra Schwarz writes on "Ein Achtel Lorbeerblatt": "In the meantime I claim: If you have heard the complete CD once, you want to hear it again right away (...) Often found between Tom Waits and Jacques Brel by the critics, closes Meyer with a " homage " to Jacques Brel. "
Andreas Beckschäfer writes on "plattentests": People of the 21st century sound strongest in the many moments when melancholy and art of words unite in a melodious way, like in the song Herbsttag .
Bettina John reports on the CD release appearance at the start of the tour in Zwickau on May 1, 2014 in the Alter Gasometer: The kind that is not about striving for perfection, but above all about being authentic . Meyer's music and lyrics fascinate her. Sometimes relaxed and easy, sometimes more serious and melancholy. But never arrogant. Always down to earth.
