The human head is 465 m above sea level. NHN high mountain in the Spessart in the Bavarian district of Aschaffenburg in Germany .
geography
The human head is located in the former community-free area Huckelheimer Wald between Westerngrund and Kleinkahl . It is bounded in the east by the Habersbach valley . The Arzborn , the source of the Querbach, lies northwest of the summit . Its valley stretches in a south-westerly direction to Huckelheim . The Habersberg (428 m) joins the Menschenkopf in the south and the Herzberg (427 m) in the southwest . In the north it goes flat to the Hohen Querberg (474 m). To the north, about 880 m from the summit of the Menschenkopf, run the state border with Hesse and the historic Birkenhainer Straße trading route . The Ruhschlag forest area is located on the southern slopes of the Menschenkopf.
Surname
It is not known where the name human head comes from. A legend according to which the head of a person was hidden in a hollow tree on the mountain probably contributed to the origin of the name.
