pharmacology
See carbapenems , unlike imipenem , meropenem is stable to dehydropeptidase I.
Spectrum of activity
The spectrum of activity is greater in the area of gram-negative bacteria compared to imipenem .
Side effects
The side effects largely correspond to those of penicillins and cephalosporins . However, epileptic seizures can also occur.
