Meseret Hailu (born September 12, 1990 ) is an Ethiopian marathon runner and half marathon world champion (2012).

Career

On October 6, 2012, she won the half marathon at the World Half Marathon Championships in Kawarna with 1:08:55 h. Two weeks later, on October 21, she won the Amsterdam Marathon in a record time of 2:21:09 h .

In 2013 she finished second in the Boston Marathon with 2:26:58 h. In August, she took part in the marathon of the World Athletics Championships in Moscow , but could not finish the run.

The 2014 Dubai Marathon was her next run and with 2:26:20 she came fourth. In April 2015 she won the Hamburg Marathon and in 2016 she came second here.
