The Eastern Mengsdorfer Spitze ( Polish Mięguszowiecki Szczyt Czarny , Slovak Východný Mengusovský štít ) is a mountain in the High Tatras with an altitude of 2,410 meters. It is located on the main ridge of the Tatra Mountains on the Polish- Slovak border. It is the fourth highest mountain in Poland.
Location and surroundings
Below the summit, the two lakes are Czarny Staw pod Rysami and Meerauge in Fish Lake Valley . The Mountain Pass Eastern Mengsdorfer notch ( Czarnostawiańska Przełęcz ) separates it from the top of Hinzenseeturms and Wildererjoch ( Mięguszowiecka Przełęcz pod Chłopkiem ) separates it from the summit of Middle Mengsdorfer tip ( Mięguszowiecki Szczyt Pośredni ).
etymology
The Polish name Mięguszowiecki Szczyt Czarny can be translated as Black Mięguszowiecki Summit . The part of the name "Schwarzer" comes from the fact that the summit protrudes over the mountain lake Czarny Staw pod Rysami . The part of the name Mięguszowiecki comes from the valley Dolina Mięguszowiecka .
Flora and fauna
Despite its height, the Eastern Mengsdorfer Spitze has a colorful flora and fauna. Numerous plant species occur, especially high alpine flowers and grasses. In addition to insects and mollusks and birds of prey, marmots and chamois also visit the summit.

The summit is popular with alpinists. However, the climb is not easy.
Routes to the summit
The hiking trail first leads from the mountain lake Czarny Staw pod Rysami to the Mengsdorfer Kanzel . A permit from the national park administration is required for the further ascent . The summit, along with the other peaks of the massif, is very popular with climbers.
- ▬ A green marked trail leads from the tarn Czarny Staw pod Rysami to the summit and continue on the Wildererjoch ( Mięguszowiecka Przełęcz pod Chłopkiem ). An unmarked path continues. The ascent is difficult and secured with a chain. The Schronisko PTTK nad Morskim Okiem mountain hut is a suitable starting point for an ascent from the valleys.
