Michael Begasse (born April 10, 1966 in Trier ) is a German journalist , moderator and speaker .

Life

Michael Begasse studied after an apprenticeship as a banker at the Sparkasse Trier Diploma in Journalism and Political Science / Sociology MA at the Catholic University of Eichstaett-Ingolstadt .

During his studies, he worked as a journalist and presenter for the Rhineland-Palatinate broadcaster Radio RPR , for the local broadcaster Radio IN in Ingolstadt, and for the breakfast television of RTL Television Guten Morgen Deutschland in Luxembourg and later in Berlin.

After completing his studies, he moved permanently to RTL Television in Berlin and later to Cologne in 1994. There he worked as an editor and reporter, later as chief editor, author and chief of the service in the editorial offices point 6 , point 12 and life! , currently in the 'Factual Entertainment' section. There he designs programs such as Die 10… or Die 25… with Sonja Zietlow in the infotainment area .

In addition, Begasse produced and produces commissioned productions for the broadcasters VOX ( DSDS - Das Magazin und Prominent! ) And SuperRTL ( DSDS - Das Magazin und Sternchen, Stars and Stories ). On the news channel n-tv, on VOX and RTL Television, Begasse regularly comments on major events as a nobility and society expert and reporter on site. Begasse has also been working for the public radio station WDR 4 since 2001 . After the Sunday tune , he took over the moderation of the WDR4 listener hit parade Top 13 , later Top 17 (alternating with Andreas Ryll until June 2013) and the program Rhythmus der Nacht (alternating with Silke Liniewski, Dominik Freiberger and Bernd Brüggemann). This has been broadcast across Germany on ARD-Nachtexpress since 2003 (since October 4, 2011, ARD-Hitnacht ). On June 11, 2017, he left the show at his own request. His successor there is Peter Kuttler.

Begasse also conceived and developed the broadcast WDR4 Schlager-Boulevard (later Promi-Boulevard ) for which he was the sole author until 2009. Since March 2011 his WDR4 Promi-Boulevard has been running on Friday on the WDR4 Feierabend program . Since 2016, the section has been running several times a day in the daily program. As an author, Begasse provides reports and information.

Since 2011 he has been lecturing as a nobility expert for Hapag Lloyd Cruises on the luxury cruise ships MS Europa and MS Europa 2 . In addition, Begasse organizes royal teatimes and royal dinners several times a year and for current events in luxury hotels such as the Hotel Atlantic Kempinski in Hamburg, the Steigenberger Parkhotel in Düsseldorf or the Excelsior Hotel Ernst in Cologne. He also organizes and moderates public and private dinner shows across Germany for WORLD of DINNER . Since 2020, Begasse has also been booked exclusively as a nobility expert for royale themed trips on all ships of the A-Rosa fleet .

He regularly does stage events, presentations, discussions and events for various clients and agencies and works as a spokesperson for trailer and advertising productions. In addition, Begasse writes music texts (under a pseudonym) in German and English, develops radio and television concepts, conducts media coaching and moderation training for private individuals and companies and is the sole expert on the RTL Royal podcast with Constanze Rick .

Begasse lives in Cologne.
