Michael Dixon Bhasera

Michael Dixon Bhasera (born November 11, 1949 in Gutu ) is a Zimbabwean clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Masvingo .

Life

Michael Dixon Bhasera was ordained a priest on August 19, 1978 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on June 17, 1991 first bishop of the diocese of Gokwe, established on the same date . The Bishop of Gweru , Francis Xavier Mugadzi , ordained him episcopal on October 19 of the same year ; Co -consecrators were Archbishop Giacinto Berloco , Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Zimbabwe, and Ignacio Prieto Vega IEME , Bishop of Hwange .

The Pope appointed him on February 9, 1999 as the first bishop of the Masvingo diocese, which was established on the same date . From April 28, 2012 to June 15, 2013, he was also Apostolic Administrator of Gweru during the Sedis vacancy . On October 24, 2017, after the death of Xavier Munyongani, the Pope reappointed him as Apostolic Administrator of Gweru for the duration of the vacancy.
