Michael Heinemann (* 1986 in Dresden ) is a German pop singer who became known through his participation in the German talent show The Voice of Germany .

Life

Heinemann is a trained kindergarten teacher. In 2010 he co-founded the band Platform M , which also includes singer and lyricist Anja Junghannß and her father, bassist Michael Junghannß. The trio plays acoustic pop, but only made minor appearances for the first three years. Heinemann occasionally plays the guitar.

In 2012, Heinemann applied to the open casting in Leipzig as a candidate for the second season of the show The Voice of Germany and progressed in various preliminary tests. With the title Dancing On My Own, he was among the top 150 applicants and joined Rea Garvey's team . On the show, he was considered the shy one. With the interpretation of Don't give up ( Peter Gabriel , Kate Bush ) he decided the following battle for himself. In the following round and the first live show of the show, he interpreted The Blower's Daughter by Damien Rice and reached the quarter-finals after the jury and audience decision. In the second live show he got into the next round after an interpretation by Alex Clares Treading Water .

In the semifinals he sang for the first time the song Words (Try to hold on) , which Rea Garvey had written for him, as well as with the eventual winner Nick Howard in the duet Skinny Love ( Birdy version). Both entered the German charts at number 91 with this song on December 21, 2012. Heinemann was eliminated in the semifinals as one of the top eight participants. A tour of eight German cities followed at the end of December, during which Heinemann appeared with the other semi-finalists. With the band Plattfom M , which grew to eight members in 2013 , Heinemann, who continues to work as an educator, makes appearances, including in Olaf Schubert's Dresden city tour: Olaf Schubert & Friends and at the Dresden City Festival 2013, the Day of the Saxons in Schwarzenberg or the Silverster Party at the Dresden Theaterplatz in front of up to 20,000 visitors.
