Michael Hrstka (born January 22, 1986 in Leverkusen ) is a former German - Czech ice hockey player who played for the Saale Bulls Halle until autumn 2016 .

Career

Hrstka began his career in the Adler Mannheim youth boarding school , where he played with the young Adler Mannheim in the German youth league. In the summer of 2002, the trained defender switched to the Kölner Haien , who also initially used him in their DNL team, the Kölner EC Junghaien. In his first season with the young sharks he was already one of the defenders with the highest points in the team and was therefore recommended for the professional team of the sharks.

During the 2003/04 season , the left shooter got the chance to prove himself in the DEL. The then 17-year-old already completed a DEL game for the KEC. In 2004 Hrstka was nominated for the German junior national team , with which he took part in the B World Cup in Italy that same year . There the defender was able to celebrate promotion to the A-WM with the team. Hrstka was used five times and scored two points scorer.

In the period that followed, the left-handed shooter played alongside his main employer, the KEC, for SC Mittelrhein-Neuwied and for the Ratinger Ice Aliens . Since he could not prevail against the Kölner Haien in the end, the Leverkusen-based player signed a contract with the Bietigheim Steelers from the 2nd Bundesliga for the 2006/07 season . Hrstka wore the Steelers' jersey 23 times before switching back to the DEL, to the Füchsen from Duisburg , during the current season .

The 2007/08 game year was spent by the defender both with the Füchsen and, thanks to a development license, with the then second division club Moskitos Essen , for which he played 43 games and scored six points. In the 2008/09 season he went on the ice for the Füchse, as well as for the cooperation partner Herner EV in the major league . After the Füchse's forced relegation, Hrstka remained loyal to the club in the regional league in 2009/10 . In the following season he was able to complete 2 games for the KEC in the DEL.

Until the end of his career in autumn 2016, Hrstka played for the Moskitos Essen and the Saale Bulls from Halle.
