Michael Hudecek (* 1961 in Vienna ) is an Austrian film editor , director and musician .

Life

Michael Hudecek began his work in the film industry in 1981 as an image and sound engineer for a film production company. Soon after, he specialized in editing . From 1985 to 1991, Hudecek helped set up the post production company Listo Videofilm , a subsidiary of Listo-Film . In addition to numerous cinema and television films as well as commercials, he worked in the areas of editing and post-production on music videos by Dolezal and Rossacher . In 1992 he founded the editing studio Offline - Film-Editing , with which he contributed to the spread of non-linear digital editing systems in Austria. Later, Hudecek became increasingly active as a director. With Christina Zurbrügg , he founded the film and music production GAMSfilm & music in 2001 . From 2004 he played saxophonist and guitarist for Zurbrügg & Band. Michael Hudecek has held the professorship for editing at the Vienna Film Academy since 2010 . The documentary film Voices Gegenstimmen about the choir association Gegenstimmen , which he directed, premiered at the Diagonale film festival in 2014 .
