Michael Rocksien (born September 16, 1966 ) is a German handball player .

Career

Michael Rocksien started with handball at TSV Grömitz. He later played for VfL Bad Schwartau in the handball Bundesliga . From 1992 the 2 meter tall goalkeeper stood between the posts at TV Niederwürzbach , with whom he became runner-up in 1993 and 1995 and won the Euro City Cup in 1995 . In 1998 he reached the Final Four of the DHB Cup with TVN , where they lost to THW Kiel at 15:30 in the final . Since THW won the championship as well as the cup in the 1997/98 season and therefore competed in the EHF Champions League the following season , he played with Niederwürzbach in the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1998/99 .

After the TVN voluntarily withdrew from the Bundesliga after the 1998/99 season, Rocksien joined the HSG D / M Wetzlar . In 2001 he reached the cup final with Wetzlar. In the same year he ended his Bundesliga career and went to the top division TV Petterweil . After he had ended his playing career in 2003, he was reactivated in January 2004 by the second division club TuS N-Lübbecke for two games because the regular goalkeeper Sławomir Szmal was in action at the European Championship and the opponent VfL Fredenbeck had not agreed to a postponement. He later returned to Wetzlar as the goalkeeping coach and goalkeeper of the second team and then played for TSF Heuchelheim before moving to HSG Dilltal in 2010. Rocksien has been playing for MSG Linden since 2012.
