The 1997/98 DHB Cup was the 24th edition of the men's handball cup competition. The final took place on April 5, 1998 in the Alsterdorf sports hall in Hamburg , which was sold out with 4,200 visitors . The winner was the THW Kiel for the first time .

112 teams from the Bundesliga , the 2nd Bundesliga , the Regionalliga , the Oberliga and the regional association below the Oberliga competed against each other in the knockout system . There were five main rounds. This was followed by the further playout with two semi-finals and a final in the Final Four .
