The 1981 DHB Cup was the seventh edition of the men's handball cup competition. The final, which consisted of a return leg for the first time, took place on May 28 and 30, 1981. The winner for the first time in the club's history was TuS Nettelstedt , which also won the 1980/81 European Cup Winners' Cup .

32 teams from the Bundesliga, the Regionalliga (= 2nd league), the Oberliga (= 3rd league, in Berlin: Stadtliga) and the regional association below the Oberliga competed against each other in the knockout system . A main round was held. This was followed by the further playout in eighth, quarter and half finals as well as a final.

final

The final for the DHB-Pokal, which consisted of a return leg for the first time, was played on May 28th and 30th, 1981 between VfL Günzburg and TuS Nettelstedt . For the first time in the club's history, the trophy was won by the TuS Nettelstedt team, who defeated the VfL Günzburg team 37:36 (first leg 15:19, second leg 22:17).
