The handball community Saarlouis , HG Saarlouis for short , is a handball community from the Saarland city ​​of Saarlouis . The HG Saarlouis was founded in 1995 through the merger of the handball departments of the clubs SC Saargold Lisdorf and DJK Roden .

The first men's team at HG Saarlouis played in the 2nd Bundesliga until the 2017/18 season .

The 2013/14 season ended the team in a relegation zone, but due to the withdrawal of their license from HSV Hamburg, HG Saarlouis remained in the 2nd Bundesliga.
