Moritz Barkow (born June 27, 1988 in Bergisch Gladbach ) is a German handball player . The circle runner currently plays in the Fédération Luxembourgeoise de Handball for HB Esch .

Career

At the age of eight, Barkow started playing handball at HSG Allianz / Police SV Köln . In the C-youth he played for a year at MTVD Cologne ; In 2003 he moved to the B-youth of TSV Bayer Dormagen. In the active field, he initially played mainly in the second team. Trained u. a. From Pascal Mahé he rose with this team in 2007 in the league and in 2008 in the regional league . In the first team, he received only a few appearances in Bundesliga and DHB Cup games. Shortly before the start of the 2007 World Cup , he was opponent of the national teams of Qatar and Greenland with TSV Bayer Dormagen .

From 2009 (under coach Klaus-Dieter Petersen ) to 2012 he played in Wilhelmshaven, in May 2012 he signed a contract with the second division promoted TuS Ferndorf. There he scored the DKB goal of the month in March 2015. In summer 2015 he returned to Wilhelmshaven. In December 2016 he tore a cruciate ligament . In October 2017 he joined SG Ratingen in 2011 . In mid-November 2017, he moved to HG Saarlouis . He has been playing for HB Esch in Luxembourg since the 2018/19 season . With Handball Esch he won both the Luxembourg championship and the Luxembourg cup in 2019 and 2020.

Barkow is single and is studying economics .
