The 1985 DHB Cup was the eleventh edition of the men's handball cup competition. The final, which consisted of a return leg, took place on June 1 and 5, 1985. The winner was for the fifth time in the history of VfL Gummersbach .

mode

There were a total of 64 teams from the Bundesliga (BL), the 2nd Bundesliga (ZL), the Regionalliga (RL; = 3rd League), the Oberliga (OL; = 4th League / Berlin: City League) and the regional association (LV ) below the top division in the knockout system against each other. There were two main rounds. This was followed by the further playout in eighth, quarter and half finals as well as a final consisting of a home and return leg.

final

The final for the DHB-Pokal, which consisted of a return leg, was played on June 1st and 5th, 1985 between TV Großwallstadt and VfL Gummersbach . The first leg took place in front of 1,302 spectators in the Elsenfeld Untermainhalle and the second leg in front of 2,300 spectators in the Gummersbacher sports hall on Moltkestrasse . For the fifth time in the club's history, the trophy was won by the VfL Gummersbach team, who defeated the TV Großwallstadt team 46:35 (first leg 20:16, second leg 26:19).
