Michael Sarach
Michael Sarach (* 1953 in Elsfleth ) is a German politician ( SPD ). He has been the mayor of the Schleswig-Holstein city of Ahrensburg since 2010 .
Life
Michael Sarach grew up in Hamburg . After graduating from high school, he trained with the financial administration of the city of Hamburg. He has the title of Diplom-Finanzwirt (FH) . He initially worked for the financial administration in Hamburg, then in the regional finance directorate , the judicial authority and the audit office . From 1991 he moved to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and worked there in Schwerin in the State Chancellery , the Ministry of Social Affairs and at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Güstrow , from 2004 in the Ministry of the Interior, where he worked as a ministerial advisor in the areas of administrative organization and finance and most recently head of department for the service portal e-government was. In 1989 Michael Sarach joined the SPD. He was a member of the SPD district executive of the Ludwigslust district and a member of the budget and finance committee of the district.
In 2001 he stood as a candidate for the mayoral election in Rotenburg (Wümme) , but was defeated in the runoff election by the CDU candidate. In 2003 he was traded as a candidate for mayor of the SPD in the Schleswig-Holstein city of Wedel . He has been the mayor of Ahrensburg since May 1, 2010, as the successor to the SPD mayor Ursula Pepper . As a joint candidate for the SPD and FDP , he received 53.28 percent of the valid votes in the second ballot. In the first ballot, he was still behind the joint candidate of the CDU and Alliance 90 / The Greens , Jörn Schade, with 32.31 percent . On October 11, 2015, he was re-elected for six years in a runoff election with 55.2 percent of the valid votes .
