Michael Terhaag (2017)

Michael Terhaag (born April 28, 1971 in Hilden ) is a German lawyer . He became known to a wider public through appearances on breakfast television and the Planetopia magazine on Sat.1 , in the ZDF morning program on Volle Kanne , on news channels such as n-tv and N24 and on Phoenix . Since 2005 he has been writing in loose succession for the Berliner Tagesspiegel on current topics in the field of internet law .

Life

After studying law at the University of Cologne , he completed his legal clerkship at the Düsseldorf Regional Court . In 1999 Terhaag was admitted to the bar and worked for three years as a lawyer in a law firm specializing in media law in Düsseldorf. In 2002 he and other lawyers founded the law firm Withöft, Terhaag & Rossenhövel , now Terhaag & Partner Rechtsanwälte . He then also completed a further education course at Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf for a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in information technology law with a focus on e-commerce .

Terhaag is a specialist lawyer for information technology law (IT law) and a specialist lawyer for commercial legal protection .

From 2013 to 2016 he was a lecturer at the Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences in the media department with a teaching position for IT law.
