Michaela Karl
Michaela Karl (* 1971 in Straubing ) is a German political scientist and writer .
Life
Karl grew up in the Lower Bavarian market town of Hengersberg . She attended the St. Gotthard Gymnasium (Absolvia 1991) in the neighboring community of Niederalteich. After finishing school, she began to study political science, history and psychology at the University of Passau . She later moved to the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and the Free University of Berlin , where she finally received her doctorate in 2001. With her dissertation , she presented the first scientific work on Rudi Dutschke , which focuses on the theoretical and political positions he propagated. She is a lecturer for political theory at the University of Politics in Munich.
In addition to her academic work, she has produced other books in which - based on extensive sources - she devotes herself to the biographies of rebels and pioneers in Bavarian history . In Social Rebels in Bavaria , she describes the lives of the three robbers and folk heroes Matthias Klostermayr , Michael Heigl and Mathias Kneißl . In Bavarian Amazons she created short portraits of Carry Brachvogel , Emerenz Meier , Mechtilde Lichnowsky , Lena Christ , Emmy Noether , Zenzl Mühsam , Claire Goll , Liesl Karlstadt , Therese Giehse , Carola Neher , Gret Palucca and Olga Benario , all of whom are emancipated and radically for them Achievement of their goals have occurred. In her book Die Münchner Räterepublik - Portraits of a Revolution (2008) she devoted herself to a forgotten chapter in Bavarian history, the Munich Räterepublik in the revolution of 1918/19.
In 2005 her first novel was published with Höllische Grüße , which was continued in 2008 with greetings from the single front .
In further books she dealt again with political opposition movements and their protagonists: Long live the world revolution. German CVs (2007), How half the world demands. The Struggle of the Suffragettes for Women's Suffrage (2009), Arguable Women. Portraits from three centuries (2009).
Michaela Karl was appointed to the Munich tower clerk in 2009.
In July 2010, her play Bavarian Amazons was premiered as part of the European Weeks .
