Michel Delebarre (born April 27, 1946 in Bailleul , Département Nord ) is a French politician of the Parti socialiste (PS), who was a member of the National Assembly (Assemblée nationale) and a minister. He was also Mayor of Dunkerque from 1989 to 2014 , President of the Regional Council of Nord-Pas-de-Calais between 1998 and 2001 and, most recently, Senator from 2011 to 2017 .

In the parliamentary elections on June 1, 1997 , Michel Delebarre was again a member of the National Assembly for the PS in the North Department, to which he belonged until his resignation on July 1, 1998. Previously, on March 16, 1998, he succeeded Marie-Christine Blandin as President of the Regional Council of Nord-Pas-de-Calais and held this position for three years until April 13, 2001, when Daniel Percheron succeeded him.
