Michel Doré
Michel Doré (born January 23, 1892 in Abbeville ; † February 4, 1945 there ) was a French racing car driver .
Career
Michel Doré's greatest success in monoposto sport was winning the 1927 Grand Prix du Salon , a Grand Prix race held at the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry , which he won on a La Licorne . There were also two successes in the Voiturette race on a Bugatti T37A and one success in a Cyclecar Grand Prix in Montlhéry in 1925.
Doré, who was also a successful hill climber, contested the Le Mans 24-hour race four times in the 1920s . In 1928 he finished seventh overall and won the class for vehicles up to 1.1 liter displacement. In 1925 he won the Bol d'Or on a Sénéchal . In 1927 he finished second overall with Fernand Pousse in the 24-hour race in Paris . The race was one of the most bizarre in early motorsport history. The organizer declared bankruptcy during the race . As a result, there was neither an award ceremony nor was the contractually agreed prize money paid out, as no one from the organizers was there at the end of the race.
His last race was in 1932 at the Spa-Francorchamps 24-hour race , where he finished eighth overall.
