Michel Poffet (* 1956 ) is a Swiss jazz musician ( double bass , bass guitar ) who is also active in the blues and rock and pop music sectors.

Live and act

Poffet has been playing since 1975, initially in the trio of Jürg Ammann. Soon she belonged to avant-garde jazz bands such as Jazz Community , Uepsilon or Mani Planzer's big band as well as traditional jazz bands such as the Swiss Dixie Stompers or Swing Kids and the Blues Shouters . He performed with Jasata Jazz in 1983 at the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Lugano Jazz Festival . Prizes and awards

With the Gloria Niemann Quartet, Poffet won the second prize in the 1980 Jazz Festival Augst. In 1985 he won the Swiss Jazz Contest Lugano with the Riccardo Garzoni Trio. With Hank Shizzoe and Loose Gravel, he received 1st prize at the Prix ​​de la scene Nyon in 1997 .
