Michele Fusco (born December 6, 1963 in Piano di Sorrento , Italy ) is an Italian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Sulmona-Valva .

Life

Michele Fusco received on 25 June 1988, the sacrament of Holy Orders . In the following years he worked as a religion teacher and pastor in the Archdiocese of Amalfi-Cava de 'Tirreni . There he was responsible for youth pastoral care from 1994, before becoming spiritual of the Salerno seminary in 2001 . Fusco initially held this post until 2007 and was reappointed to Salerno in 2012 in the same function. In between he was pastor at the Cathedral of Sant'Andrea Apostolo in Amalfi and spiritual at the seminary of Naples .

On November 30, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Sulmona-Valva. He was ordained episcopate on January 4, 2018, by Crescenzio Cardinal Sepe , Archbishop of Naples. Co- consecrators were Orazio Soricelli , Archbishop of Amalfi-Cava de 'Tirreni, and Fusco's predecessor Angelo Spina , who had risen to Archbishop of Ancona-Osimo . He was inducted into office on February 4 of the same year.
