Michelle Mitchell (born April 22, 1982 in Sydney ) is a former triathlete from Australia and Ironman winner (2012).

Career

Michelle Mitchell started her first short-distance triathlon in 2006. In 2007 she finished third in the national half marathon championship.

She started as a professional in 2010 and is trained by Kristian Manietta. Mitchell mostly competes in long distance triathlons. In October 2011 she won the Barcelona-Maresme Challenge in Barcelona on the long distance (3.86 km swimming, 180 km cycling and 42.195 km running).

In May 2012 she was able to win an Ironman in Australia for the first time and thus became national champion in the long distance triathlon. It has not appeared internationally since 2012. Michelle Mitchell lives in Melbourne .
