Windows Home Server 2011 with the code name Vail is an operating system for home servers from Microsoft and the successor to Windows Home Server . It is based on Windows Server 2008 R2 and is therefore a pure 64-bit operating system.

The final version of the operating system has been available since June 2011.

Functions

Windows Home Server 2011, like its predecessor, offers up to ten Windows computers in the home network regular system backups and simple and central access to data such as music, pictures and videos, which can also be accessed from the Internet if desired, as well as to Devices such as printers and scanners.
