Midyphil B. Billones

Midyphil Bermejo Billones (born July 4, 1969 in Capiz , Panay ) is a Filipino clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Cebu .

Life

Midyphil B. Billones studied in Iloilo City and Quezon City . On October 2, 1995, he received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Jaro .

After the ordination he was first chaplain at the cathedral of Jaro. From 1997 to 2001 he was the personal secretary of Archbishop Alberto Jover Piamonte and his successor Angel Lagdameo . During this time he was also a member of the priestly council , was vice-chancellor of the archdiocese and president of the youth commission and notary of the diocesan synod. From 2004 to 2012 he studied at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome and was awarded a Dr. theol. PhD . After his return home he became sub- rain and in 2013 rain of the regional seminar in Jaro. He was again a member of the Council of Priests and headed the diocesan commission for the laity.

On July 16, 2019 it appointed Pope Francis to the titular bishop of Tagarata and Auxiliary Bishop of Cebu. The Archbishop of Jaro, Jose Romeo Orquejo Lazo , donated him episcopal ordination on August 27 of the same year . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Cebu, Jose Serofia Palma , and the Archbishop Emeritus of Jaro, Angel Lagdameo.
