Mihai Mircea Neşu (born February 19, 1983 in Oradea ) is a former Romanian football player . He was under contract with FC Utrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie until 2012 .
Career
society
The son of former football player and FIFA referee Mircea Neşu (1940-2014) began his career at his home club Arcadia Oradea before moving to Steaua Bucharest in 2001 . On April 21, 2002 he made his debut in the Romanian League 1 . With Steaua he was able to become Romanian champion in 2005 and 2006 and win the Supercup in 2006. In the 2006/07 season after George Ogăraru to Ajax Amsterdam was changed and Neşu had finally become a regular player, he participated in the UEFA Champions League in part, in which he on 13 September completed his debut in 2006, when Steaua away against Dynamo Kiev with Won 4-1.
At the beginning of the 2008/09 season he moved to FC Utrecht in the Netherlands . There he was supposed to replace Erik Pieters who had emigrated . On September 14, 2008 against FC Groningen , the full-back made his debut in the Eredivisie .
On May 10, 2011, Neşu broke a cervical vertebra in a training accident . Since then he has been paralyzed from the neck down and has to use a wheelchair. He therefore had to end his career when his contract expired in the summer of 2012.
National team
Neşu already played for the Romanian U21s before he was appointed to the senior team for the first time . In 2005 the defensive player made his debut in the national team against Ivory Coast .
