Mihai Sârbulescu

Mihai Sârbulescu (born February 23, 1957 in Bucharest ) is a Romanian painter . He lives in Bucharest.

Life

Sârbulescu studied painting at the Bucharest Art Academy ( Academia de Arte Bucuresti ). He completed his studies in 1981. In 1982 he became a member of the Association of Fine Artists of Romania. In 1985 he co-founded the artist group “Prolog” with Paul Gherasim, Constantin Flondor, Cristian Paraschiv and Horea Paştina. Since 2004 he has been teaching at the Universitatea Nationala de Arte Bucuresti . Sârbulescu is one of the most famous contemporary painters in Romania. He is one of the representatives of contemporary painting in Romania at the end of the 20th century. Century.

Exhibitions

Since 1982 Mihai Sârbulescu has had solo exhibitions and participations in exhibitions from Bucharest to New York , including Arte Fiera Bologna, Galerie KK Essen (first solo exhibition in Germany 1999), "East-West" New York, Romanian Cultural Institute Berlin, Museum Brukenthal Sibiu (Hermannstadt), Museum for Art Brasov ( Muzeul de Artă Brașov ) (Kronstadt), “Pro Logos” Venice and Galeria Cervino Augsburg. In 1995 he led a painting course at the Ludwig Forum in Aachen .

In 2004 he exhibited with the artist group “Prolog” at the Muzeul de Arta in Arad . In 2005 pictures by him and the artist group “Prolog” were presented in the Muzeul Țăranului Român in Bucharest. In 2006, more than 20 years after the creation of the artist group “Prolog”, an anniversary exhibition took place in the National Museum ( Muzeul National al Unirii ) in Alba Iulia . As part of the group exhibition “Im Licht”, which presented works by contemporary Romanian artists, his work was shown at the Romanian Culture Days in Germany Pro Europa in Berlin and in 2009 at Deutsche Welle in Bonn . In December 2008 / January 2009 his pictures were presented as part of a group exhibition at the Muzeul Unirii in Iași . In March / April 2010 he exhibited together with Marin Gherasim, Viorel Mărginean, Horea Paştina and Ion Stendl in Bucharest as part of the Secretele Maeștrilor exhibition . The Romanian daily Cotidianul referred to the artists on the occasion of the exhibition opening as “Cinci artişti din primul eşalon al artei româneşti contemporane” .

As part of a permanent exhibition, his works can be seen in the Muzeul Etnografic, Olimpic și de Artă Contemporană Nicolae Frunteș in Brașov .
