Mijdrecht is a former municipality and now the largest town in the current municipality of De Ronde Venen in the Dutch province of Utrecht . The village is located a little south of the busy provincial road N201, about halfway between Uithoorn and Vinkeveen . Mijdrecht borders the village of Wilnis and has 16,025 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017). In 2005 a new residential area was added, Wickelhof II. In 2006, Wickelhof III was built. Mijdrecht has a college (VeenLanden College), a kind of grammar school with a secondary school.
Sports
The football club Argon is a very successful club that plays in the highest amateur class. In addition to Argon, Mijdrecht also has a club for korfball (Atlantis) and a hockey club HVM.
