Mikołaj Skorodyński , Ukrainian Микола Скородинський Mykola Skorodynskyj , also Nicolaus Skorodynsky and Nikolaus Skorodyński (born January 15, 1757 in Zboron , Galicia ; † May 23, 1805 ) was the Ukrainian Greek Catholic bishop of Lemberg .

Life

He studied philosophy, theology and law at the University of Vienna . He later became professor at the diocesan seminary in Lviv and, in 1783, vice-rector of the Greek Catholic seminary in Lviv. He was also a lecturer in pastoral theology at the University of Lemberg . In 1787 he became vicar general of the Greek Catholic eparchy . After the death of Peter Bielansky († May 29, 1798) Mikołaj Skorodyński was appointed Bishop of Lemberg by Emperor Franz II on September 28, 1798 . He received the episcopal ordination on March 10, 1799 by the Bishop of Chełm , Porifiriusz Skarbek Ważyński .
